I am a senior researcher at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW). Previously I worked as the scientific coordinator for the national report on educaton at the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education. I attained my Ph.D. at the University of Leipzig and worked as a student assistent at the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).
Furthermore I am a member of the executive committee at the Society of Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies, SLLS. As alumni of the Japanese-American-German Frontiers of Science Symposium of the Alexander of Humboldt foundation I am representing the social sciences in the planing group of the 6th JAGFoS 2025 in Kyoto, Japan.
In a previous career I was occupationally qualified in business management (BA Business Management) and worked in public relations and was an account manager for an international company. Before becoming a sociologist I also volunteered as a docent at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. (Freer and Sackler Galleries) and the Anderson House Museum.
